Issues with Tap to Pay Credit Cards

Not all cards are compatible with Tap to Pay functionality; this could be because the card itself is not contactless-enabled, is issued by a bank not currently supporting Tap to Pay, or might be a specific type of card like a prepaid card with limitations on contactless usage. Key points about cards that might not work with Tap to Pay:
  • Older cards without contactless technology
Check for the contactless symbol on your card to confirm if it's capable of Tap to Pay.
  • Debit cards from certain banks:
While many debit cards support Tap to Pay, some banks might not have fully enabled this feature for all their debit cards.
  • Prepaid cards with restrictions:
Some prepaid cards may not be allowed for contactless payments depending on the issuer.
  • Damaged cards:
If the card's antenna is damaged, it might not read properly for Tap to Pay.
How to check if your card works with Tap to Pay:
  • Look for the contactless symbol: This is usually a wave-like icon on the front of your card.
  • Contact your bank: Verify with your card issuer if your specific card supports Tap to Pay functionality.
  • Try at a compatible terminal: If you're unsure, try tapping your card at a store that clearly indicates it accepts contactless payments.
